Are you looking to reach the children in your community with the Gospel? Most churches prioritize children’s ministry, and so they should! I believe there is no greater opportunity for Gospel outreach than an effective VBS. No doubt your church has run these programs in the past, and there is not one way to do it. However, over 13 years of pastoring and these past years in evangelism, I’ve had the opportunity to hone a simple but exciting program that can be adapted to any size church.
Simplicity means it’s not going to overwhelm a church with intricate program logistics and won’t require a huge volunteer staff. Each day I bring out my ventriloquist friend, Davey Dooley, and we have lots of laughs. Of course, my priority is to present the Gospel clearly. Each day I focus on a different facet of the Gospel message in a careful progression that allows kids an opportunity to make solid professions of faith in Christ. I use Gospel magic and present the Good News on a level where children can easily understand.
